(Keg at Mikkeller Helsinki, 20210116) The beer poured black. Its head was small and lightly brown. Aroma had vanilla, burnt malts, wood and lightly ash. Palate was full bodied and sticky sweet with medium carbonation. Flavours were burnt malts, vanilla, chocolate, alcohols and bitterness. Aftertaste was burnt, sweet and bitter. A pleasant burnt brew with strong barrel notes.

Draught @ Mikkeller Helsinki. Sweet, heavy and slightly syrupy with some cocoa, vanilla, rye whisky, oak and woody notes, hints of earthiness and molasses. All the rye notes and earthiness make this feel quite old skool despite its quite sweet and borderline pastry. Interesting.

Smell of coffee and chocolate. Black colour, brown head. Aroma of chocolate, sugar, vanilla. Γbersweet. Some rye-ish background flavour, any oak or whisky is basically hidden. Slick texture. Thick.

375 ml bottle from MBC. Black, oily body, with almost no head. Aroma of dark chocolate fudge, whiskey, tobacco, chocolate, coffee, caramel, some booze. Tastes sweeter, with more vanilla, butterscotch. Full, oily mouthfeel, with a moderate ccarbonation. Finishes warm, moderate boozy, medium sweet, moderate roasty, with dark chocolate fudge, soy sauce, coffee, tobacco, some vanilla. Tasty. Pretty sweet, but really rich and interesting, especially the taste. Quite heavy, but not too overpowering. Lovely sipper. Score: 8 / 4 /8 / 4 / 16
