Bottle from a friend - deep purple pour - complex and juicy aroma of blackberry, raspberry, oak, brown sugar, red wine - kinda smells like a blackberry pie, really - flavor is bracingly acetic acid acidity up front, followed by some dry oakiness and a moderate savory character - tart berry late, finishing whit strong dry oaky tannins - manages to pull off being extremely sour but also balanced, so kudos there - really good.

Bottle picked up fromBeer Republic webshop, nr Breda, Netherlands and consumed at home on a work social Zoom call Friday 22nd January 2021. Pours deep, deep blood red with a pinky coloured head, the aroma is of brambles, redcurrant, raspberry and a woodiness and rightly hints at a sour and tartness to follow. Wow this is a zappy beer, fruity, tangy and tart, I really don't know what a haskap beery is but it tastes like a redcurrant/blueberry hybrid with the zappy edge of the former in particular and a dry slightly puckering finish. Very nice beer, ok it would be better suited to the summer months, however it is working well in the snowy bayerische winter.
