Pale ales are known for their aroma hop as much as their bittering hop and this is a classic example. It’s a beer with a subtle malt base that allows the hops do all the talking. The predominant hop used is Australian Summer, which gives a distinctive pink grapefruit aroma.

Past BB so to be rerated if possible. Misty darker golden body, white head. Herbal, dusty, flowery aroma, gone. Taste reveals some fruity notes, stone fruit jam notes, over a solid bitter kick with traces of oxidation, a bit on the thinner side. Okay. Raising the score a little to be more fair for now.

0,5 l bottle from Vrutak, Zagreb. Shared with Marko. Hazy golden, small to medium, lasting frothy off-white head. Malty, toasty, herbal and floral aroma. Some citrusy notes, zesty. Light body, moderate carbonation. Bitter. Herbal hops, earthy. Very dry finish, lasting. A bit thin, quite drinkable, slightly aggressive. Also, an older bottle, I kinda forgot about it.

Bottle, 0.5l. Hazy golden/copper pour, two finger frothy white head. Long lasting, very good retention. Lots of thick lacing on the glass. Grainy nose, wheat, floral notes, a bit perfumy. Thin body, soft carbonation. Smooth mouthfeel and texture, goes down quite nicely. Herbal bitter taste, mild sweetness in the background, good balance. Aroma of lager malt, wheat, grains, citruses. Strong herbal and grassy character, earthy, lingering floral notes. Long lasting finish, dry, moderately bitter. Solid thirst quencher.

Bottled 500ml. -from Vrutak Zagreb. Golden coloured, medium sized white head, bready herbal nose. The taste is almost the same; bready, herbal, light grassy and grainy with rather strong bitter finish.
