Abyssal: Our toughest expedition yet. Dark, rich and velvety smooth. The 5.7% gives the beer a level of complexity and character that demands respect.

For the malt lovers. Medium Crystal malts, chocolate malts, roasted barley and wheat create a rich, velvety smooth full-bodied stout, with a small but refreshing Herkules dry-hop addition.

Bottle from Bay Hop, Colwyn Bay. Aroma is chocolatey with a berry edge. Dark and glossy. Frothy beige head sticks to the rim. Sour berries lead the charge, followed by espresso. Tangy. Medium bodied. Slick. Average-fizzy carbonation. Long dry somewhat astringent finish. Nice.

500ml bottle. Pours dark, as expected, good deep tan head. Chocolatey notes wafting through, and providing much of the character to taste, some grainy dark malt, subtle roast, nice bitter close. Nicely presented chocolatey porter.
