Tripels are strong pale ales that originated in Belgium in the 1930s. The name comes from an old marking system where beers were labeled with Xs to indicate strength. Three Xs or a "Tripel" was the strongest you could get. Brewed with a Belgian yeast strain for classic spicy, fruity notes, and naturally carbonated.

(Can) Lovely looking beer - clear golden with big dense white head. Pleasant aroma of dried fruit and peppery spice. Good mouthfeel, medium bodied with a slight stickiness, and great carbonation that is both bright and mouth filling. Great taste. There’s a toffee sweetness through most of the palate that slowly gives way to a peppery bitterness, with both in balance in a long finish. There’s orange and dried fruit at the start. Cinnamon notes. Some alcohol heat in the finish. Very good.

Can. Pale amber with an inch of white head. Aroma of spiced dough, flowers, light spices, apricots, a little orange. At first creamy textured but gradually bitterness and spice (white pepper, cloves) sharpen the palate a bit. Similarly, it's richly malty with stone fruit but then that all gets whisked away towards the end. Maybe the alcohol should show a little more, but again this is really impressive.
