Rum is a perfect match for the deliciously complex Chimay Grande Réserve, adding an amazing tropical twist to the mix. Aromas of dried fruit, apricot and peach combine beautifully with this beer’s intense caramel, chocolatey flavour. Bold oak, vanilla, orange and brown candy sugar, the typical accents delivered by rum casks, are layered with subtle notes of hazelnut and almond. The aftertaste has ripe banana and a surprising aromatic burst of spice bread. A superb assemblage, with the distinct and elegant aroma of rum as a backbone.

75 cL bottle. Pours dark brown with a deep amber glare, tan and lasting head. Wooden and wineous deep fruity. Sweet, wooden and dried fruity. Light alcohol presence. Lingering overripe fruity and smooth wooden fruity far finish.
A deep dark reddish brown ale with a thin off white head. In aroma, sweet fruity caramel malt with dark fruits, candy sugar, light curacao, light woody notes, pleasant. In mouth, a nice sweet fruity caramel malt with dark fruits, licorice, light candy sugar, alcohol warmth light woody notes, pleasant. Bottle at mondiale 2024.

Bottle at home. 2 year old. Pours a dark brown colour with a beige head. Aroma of caramel, rum, tobacco, , plums, dates, liqour and some smoke. Similar flavour with the addtion of grass, rye bread and nuts. Has a slick and slightly silky mouth feel, medium to full body and a soft bitterness. Complex, rich and tasteful.

750mL bottle, pours a red-tinged dark brown with a large beige head. Aroma is quite complex, with lots of effervescent Belgian yeast, lots of toasted oak, and a hint of dried red fruits. Flavour is rich, with tons of oak, dried red fruits, very gentle rum, and a hint of caramel. Low-to-moderate sweetness, with lots of oak and expressive Belgian yeast. Excellent.
