Our take on this classic IPA, is jam-packed with prominent West Coast hop aromas of grapefruit and pine. It takes off with flavours of citrus and tropical fruit and lands on a mildly sweet, malty backbone with a balanced bitterness.

473ml can. Pours a slightly hazy gold with a medium, frothy, long lasting, white head that leaves soapy curtains of lace. Aroma of bready pale malt, grapefruit and piney hops. Sweet fruity flavour of bready caramel malt, grapefruit, apricot, cantaloupe and pine resin in a dry, mild bitter finish. Medium body with an oily texture and soft carbonation. Tasty and easy to drink.

Bright gold. Soft body. Some bitterness but it’s muted, and the hop expression is as well. There’s some decent biscuity malt character, but honestly I am wondering if I’m missing something.

Can from The Gull, North Vancouver
Light amber colour, clean. Chewy, bready malts, soft hops, with sweet orange character, balanced bitterness, and a touch of pine; I particularly like the residual sweetness.
Not an ultramodern West Coast IPA (not crisp, different hop profile), but at the same time not the old style sticky ones; very good.

On tap at Luppolo, pours a clear golden with a small white head. Aroma brings out oily resinous and piney hops, with a sweet caramely bready malt backbone. Flavour is nicely balanced, with piney hops, some resinous hop oils, light sweet malt, and gentle bitterness. Pretty laid back but well-made for a west cost. Good stuff.

16oz on Alex's porch. Appearance: almost clear golden with a white head. Aroma: malty, some fruity candy like notes. Taste: along the same lines, with noticeable hoppy bitterness. Overall: pretty good for the style (that I am not a big fan of).

Pours a thick brownish orange and good solid foam on top. Full hop aroma, tangerine and pine, soft chewy malt backbone. Flavour is syrupy biscuit, sweet piney hops, soft lemon zest. Thick and oily, a chewy IPA. Not sure I'd call it west coast but crafted well enough.
