Bottle from Aldi. It pours brown with a medium beige head. The aroma is sweet, sticky, bread brown, fruit cake, wood and leather. The taste is drying, brown bread, resinous, chewy malt, leather, tannin, stewed tea, spicy notes and earth with a drying finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. A bit chewy and toothy. Fine enough.

Bottle from the brewery. Hazy ruby body with a thin beige head. Steady carbonation. Faint lacing. Aroma of toffee apple, berries and stewed tea. Flavour of wood, nuts, caramel and orange peel. Thin to medium body with a smooth mouthfeel. Soft fizz. Flavoursome and very drinkable. This brewery is off to a good start.
