11.2 fl oz bottle purchased at Cork and Barrel 23rd Street in Lawrence, Kansas. Best before 20 May 16. The pour is a clear gold yellow with a 1/2 inch white head. The aroma is light sweet malt grain along with a bit of citrus. The taste is the clean sweet malt grain, very much the representation of the nose, along with some of the citrus towards the back, which gets bit unclean in longish finish. As the beer warms, a nice honey herbal comes out giving the beer more flavor. The palate is light bodied with a high level of carbonation and the sweet malt in the finish.

Bottle (actually 3 bottles in a Masskrug). Nutty toffee malt and hay aroma. Amber with moderate head. Mildly sweet nutty toffee malt and mildly bitter herbal quinine and hay flavor. Moderate body. Pretty good.

Nice and sweet, put still crisp and smooth, easy drinker. Almost clear golden body, light wispy head, totally cereal, sweet malt throughout

12oz bottle. Filtered tan-orange-yellow body. Creamy, steady white head. Doughy body, very pleasant lager tones. A touch of noble hops balances it out. Very fresh tasting...though it says it was best before May 2014...it is late August 2014 as I drink it...perhaps a mistaken date as this tastes pretty good still. Respectable offering at a great price.

330 ml bottle into dimpled mug, best before 5/28/2014. Pours slightly cloudy golden amber color with a 1-2 finger fairly dense white head with good retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Light spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass. Aromas of honey, bread, cracker, pear, apple, grape, floral, grass, herbal, light pepper, and yeast earthiness. Ok aromas with solid balance of malt, hop, and yeast ester notes; with decent strength. A bit too much yeast fruitiness in the nose. Taste of honey, bread, cracker, light caramel, floral, grass, pear, apple, herbal, light pepper, and yeast earthiness. Slight herbal bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of honey, bread, cracker, light caramel, floral, grass, pear, apple, herbal, and yeast earthiness on the finish. Nice balance and robustness of malt, hop, and yeast ester flavors; with a great malt/yeast flavor balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a slightly creamy and very smooth mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with only a slight warming noticed after the finish. Overall this is a good Oktoberfest style. Good balance and robustness of malt, hop, and yeast ester flavors; and very smooth to drink. A nicely enjoyable offering.

Aroma: Nice, clean malty aroma, on the light side, with caramel and bready notes
Appearance: It pours a clear golden color with a nice sized white head and some light lace
Flavor: The taste is along the same line, clean and malty, a little sweet, but not overly sweet
Palate: The body is light-medium, it has a crisp, clean feel, and a smooth finish
Overall Impression: Solid example of the style. It is clean and easy drinking, which makes for a nice overall feel, even if the flavors aren’t all that exciting.

Tap. Pours clear orange amber with a small white head. Aroma is surprisingly grainy for a Marzen, with notes of caramel and grass. Flavor is about the same, mildly sweet, very light bitterness on the crisp finish. Light bodied.

Draft. Not the toffeeish marzen I was hoping - rather a golden lager, with a moderate, lightly sweet, palate. Clean and drinkable, though definitely learning toward boring. Malts are more like sugar cookie.
