(Can) Pours very dark brown with small tan head. Lovely complex aroma. Dominantly vinous with oak, chocolate, hints of cherry and vinegar. Kept taking more sniffs to try to understand the complex aroma. Smooth medium body with modest fine carbonation. Taste is unusual and complex. There’s a pleasant tartness and plenty of oak throughout the palate. There are notes of chocolate and cherries. There’s some pepper spice and earthiness. Very enjoyable and intriguing.

Can. Dark brown, no head to speak of. Aroma of dark bread, cherries, oak, old lemons, a memory of chocolate, grass. And there's more chocolate and bread in the taste. Quite sour at first, then more generous flavours come through along with fruit. The end has some oak and tart fruit but could use just a little more definition (a bit of a winemaker's palate). Interesting beer - kvass meets porter meets sour red.
