Bij het openen komen de zoete kersen al naar binnen, beetje kaneel, vanille, amandel, smaken zijn toch wel redelijk aan de zure kant, zoete kersen, kaneel, iets vanille, funky, hout, zacht en toch ook scherp.

0,75l bottle at home. Oogst 2020. Bottled 16.01.2021. dark red color, small pink head. smells cherries, oak, stone fruits, cherry pits, some cinnamon, baby diaper, bit grassy, earthy. very nice smell. full body, pearly carbonation. tastes cherries, bit lactic, earthy, grassy, subtle funk, some stone fruits, cinnamon. finishes bubbly, dry and light to medium sour with notes cherries, stone fruits and earthy notes. good one, a tad too bubbly for me, and also a tad too clean (lactic), overall very nice one.

21 August 2021. At Gents Bierfestival. Cheers to Anke, Kevin, Jerre & the Ghent beer crew! Hazy red, thin, frothy, off-white head. Aroma of sour cherry, redcuraant, sour cream, vinegar, lemon peel, red wine, wood. Taste has very sour cherry, redcurrant, some lemon acid underneath, bit lactic, 'funky' leather note & vinegar. Tart, mouth-puckering finish, lots of cherry & cherry peels, vinegar, red wine tannins. Medium body, oily texture, average carbonation. Very intense cherry character, sharp, uncompromising.

Pours dark purplerede. Small pinkwhite layer of foam - barely to be called a head. Scent is fleshy, candy (not sweet)-intense cherry. Very mild traces of acetic acid, providing some funk. Taste is sharp, intensely tart ( the most intense of the 4 cherry versions released in 2021 ) . Full cherries (swiming pool aroma). Lovely beer, but as hyped as it is, I expected more. I actually prefer the 'Oude Kriek met Cider' myself. Still, a briliant beer, obviously.
