Verdandi (6.0%) is fermented in foeder with a house strain of Saison yeast and Brettanomyces.
After fermentation, Verdandi was dry hopped generously with Southern Passion, lending notes of passionfruit, guava and red berries to a rustic, oak forward saison.
The Norns are female beings from Norse Mythology, who are said to rule the fate of Gods and men by weaving together the past, present and future. Our Nornir Series features Urd (past), Verdandi (present) and Skuld (future). Skål!

Draft pour at House of Funk, North Van. Clean and bright golden appearance. Lots of Funk up front, soft white grape, amd a hint of berry. A bit of a dry finish. Refreshing finish. Well constructed with the brett and grain. Barely sour. Enjoyed this.

Can thanks to Ferris. Pours a cloudy yellow with medium white head leaving spotty lacing. The aroma is yeast, floral, grass, lemon zest, pepper. Medium body, yeast, pepper, brett, oak, light dry finish, very good.

Modest yellow body with some minimal foam. Smells of good banana, though slightly muddled. Taste is soft banana, slightly tart lemon, ends full and dry. Adequate and easy, that's about it.

Hazy and pale. Thin head. It’s off. Right away, getting diacetyl that messes with everything else. I mean, some lean pale malts and light bitterness, herbaceous hops. But yeah, butter. Too bad. There’s a good beer in there somewhere. Stupid question - but when a beer is obviously infected with diacetyl, why not just dump it instead of embarrassing yourself?

New rating: on tap at House of Funk, pours a clear blonde with a small white head. This is much better — big time cleaned up, with gentle tartness and rustic saison yeast. Clean and well-made. Old rating: 473mL can, pours a cloudy yellow with a small white head. Aroma is appalling, with shit tons of diacetyl, rotting fruits, and rustic saison yeast. Flavour is vile, with lots of butter and rotting fruits. The saison yeast is further back, and the hops aren't too noticeable. Messed up in many way.
