Can from Drankenhandel Leiden. Heavy on the ginger with milk chocoalate, vanilla, dark malt. Quite spicy with burning ginger, moderate sweet, medium to full body. Bit heavy on the ginger for my taste, nice underlying Stout aromas.

Can from Beer Republic. It pours opaque jet black with a small tan head. The aroma is rich roasted malt, charred action, dark chocolate, intoxicating ginger character, warming spice, Jamaican ginger cake, bourbon soaked oak and vanilla cake frosting. The taste is slick, rich roasted malt, charred malt, bitter - sweet, umami, liquorice, dark chocolate, vanilla, plenty of fiery ginger, cake frosting, Jamaican ginger cake, nip of booze, toasty and bourbon filth with a dry, gingery finish. Fulsome body and moderate carbonation. Ginger is over egged but not as bad as others have made out. Spicy and fiery.

12oz can from my brother. Thick, black pour, fizzy beige head. Sweet, savory aroma, ginger. Taste adds some light vanilla, chocolate, more sweetness, but it's the ginger driving the bus here. Bourbon does not make much of an appearance.

A black beer, a head is quite big and brown. Aroma has lots of spicyness, cinnamon, ginger, dried fruits with their sweetness, apricot, some chocolate. Taste has smooth maltyness, lots of ginger, other spicyness, light chocolate, ginger is warming in the mouth. Almost full bodied. Complex, but overdose of spices.

Pours a black body and a brown head that immediately disappears (possibly glass wasn't clean). Aroma's: primarily ginger, with sweet chocolate and some fudge. Retronasal it's ginger, bourbon, vanilla, woody, roasty. Flavour is moderate sweet, ginger, roasted, rye, dark chocolate. Medium bodied. It has a firm sharpness to it, likely form the ginger, but possibly (also) the alcohol. Long finish with lots of roast, quite bitter. I quite like this, but it's a novelty and far from balanced.

35,5 cl can @ FF tasting. Rated on 13.03.2021. Canned 28.08.2020. Aroma has strong ginger tones and quite nothing else. Flavour has ginger, roasted malt and coffee. Very odd mixture of ginger ale and imperial stout. Rated on 2021-03-13.
