Bottle: Pale golden to golden, hazy, loose and stable white head; mild to moderate sourish-lemony and grainy nose with a tinge of wheat; sourish-sweetish flavour with a mild tartness; light bodied, not watery; slightly lingering fruity-lemony and grainy finish. A fresh and well balanced Kölsch, surely disappointing for those, whoe expected a hop-bomb...

Bottle @ home shared with Joes. Hazy yellow color, small white to off-white head. Smell and taste wheat, slightly sweetish banana-ish (how on earth is this a kölsch???) with a hint of citrus and slightly sugar / a bit artificial. Average body, firm fizzy carbonation. Meh.

33cl bottle. Pours hazy golden colour with a huge most good lasting off-white head. Aroma of toasted matl, herbs, yeast. Taste of yeast, herbal hops, high carbonation, nothing special.

Zu starke Karbonisierung. Trocken hefig, geringe Hopfigkeit. Geringfügig würzig, leicht herb. Etwas süß zum Ende, die Hefigkeit bildet Nuancen von Kräutern. 11/9/9/8/8/9

0.33 l bottle from ’Hopfenrausch’ (thanks Mareike!), best before March 2017. Minimally hazy, golden yellow with a massive, frothy, very slowly diminishing, white head. Actually the whole glass was full of foam, less than an oz. of liquid beer left, but interestingly no gushing. Sweetish, slightly yeasty-spicy and a bit fruity-grassy aroma of banana, cloves, vanilla and hints of citrus. Sweetish, rather yeasty-spicy and a little fruity-grassy taste of banana, loads of clove, vanilla and a touch of citrus, followed by a short, slightly bitter, very yeasty-spicy and a bit grassy finish. Thin to medium body, very effervescent mouthfeel, lively carbonation. Reminds me of a Dutch Blond actually, too much clove, lacks a refreshing hop character and is way too heavily foaming. Not bad though, just too many flaws. --- Beer merged from original tick of Ale Mania Sommer Ale on 07 Jul 2021 at 18:48 - Score: Appearance - 6 | Aroma - 6 | Flavor - 6 | Texture - 6 | Overall - 6.5. Original review text: 0.33 l bottle from the brewery's web shop, best before December 2021. Almost clear, golden with a medium large, frothy, almost stable, white head. Slightly sweetish, slightly floral, minimally grassy-spicy aroma of grains, some hay and traces of lemon peel. Slightly sweet, quite dry, moderately bitter, slightly fruity-floral taste of grains, hay and a touch of lemon peel, followed by a short, gently bitter, quite dry, a bit grassy finish. Thin to medium body, gently effervescent mouthfeel, average carbonation. Decent summer ale, not very outspoken but nicely thirst-quenching.

330ml bottle. Cloudy, yellow-ish, deep golden colour with average, frothy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, white head. Slightly grassy, hoppy aroma, minimally biscuity, pale malty background. Taste is mildly sweet-and-sour, grainy, biscuity and grassy hoppy, minimally husky. Nice.

Hazy blond with thin head. Aroma and flavour have elements of a Belgian Wit with the yeast and hints of banana. A nice beer but with too much carbonation.

Bottle from Rudat. Smooth yeasty nose. The beer starts fresh and mild, yeasty and floral. even hints of clove and banana - tastes like not a Kölsch-yeast used here. Fresh and fruity smooth yeasty aftertaste. Not much bitterness, like a good Weißbier. Round and fruity banana-clove with lots of yeast.
