440ml can Sophie's Beer Store. Pours pitch black, deep tan head. Aroma of rich milk chocolate and oreo cream filling. Quite a rich, sweet introduction, lots of creamy milk chocolate with a big alcohol hit. This gradually allows almond, marzipan, vanilla and cookie dough to emerge on the finish. I would say say it's the power of suggestion that brings 'cookies n cream' to mind, with not much to ostensibly differentiate between Maltgarden's Imperial vanilla stout. It's good, but I expected something else to really bring out the cookie feel.

440ml can. Black with a small brown head. Aroma of boozy vanilla and chocolate liqueur. Taste is very sweet, massive amount of vanilla to the point where it's almost artificial tasting, plenty of milk chocolate, some mild biscuity like malt but not really enough to scream cookies (or even donuts as the label suggests), booze creeps through more and more as it warms. Full bodied, very creamy and smooth. Good stuff but not as refined as some of their other big pastry stouts.
