Bumpy Road is a collaboration with our lovely friends at Beak Brewery; one of whom inadvertently enjoyed a trip across a farmer’s field on a way to a local hostelry during his last visit to us. We decided to brew a special double IPA together, combining both our California ale yeast and their London Fog strain to create a beer greater than the sum of its parts. Bumpy Road pours hazy, exuding aromas of Pineapple and Passionfruit. The body is soft and pillowy with a hint of bitterness; on the palate there is a profusion of sweet fruit.

Can 440ml (Alko web, canned 02/2021) Slightly hazy golden colour, small white head. Bubblegum, citrus in the nose - very Brut IPA like. Light to medium-bodied. Citrus, lemon peel, tropical fruits, alcohol. Yeah very much like Brut IPA on drugs.

Can. Just a light haze on this gold beer, decent pale cream colour head. Palate is reasonably smooth and semi dry and has decent fine minerally carbonation. Slightly thin malts, a touch of grain with a modest creamy sweetness. Hops bring crisp cooling pine and some juicy if thin citrus come tropical fruits that shouts Bru-1. A little pithy citrus, touch of smooth piney yellow grapefruit. Whiff of hop dust green grit but thankfully, only a whiff. Smooth piney Bru 1 finish. Not too bad. Doesn't quite make it as a light clean dipa and doesn't make it as a juicy hop bomb either but it has its own charm. The Bru 1 absolutely makes this beer mind, think it could have been a poor affair without it.

Can. Beer Central, Sheffield. Medium haze on a pale gold. Thin and frothy white head is lasting and semi lacing. Nose has sweet peel. Pine sap and some flowery herb. Tangerine. Clean malts. Taste is refreshingly bitter, with a moderate grainy sweetness. Smooth mouthfeel with fine carbonation drinks well at the ABV. Nicely bitter, citrus peel bitterness to finish.
