With its distinctive orange hues, this smooth, robust, naturally cloudy cider is a Somerset tradition. For those who like oak-aged cider medium dry, our cidermakers choose apples including Tremlett’s Bitter for its tannins, while Dabinett brings a rich, full body.

Cloudy orange color, a bit scary. The aroma is fruity and sour, with a touch of hazelnuts. The mouthfeel is a bit astringent, with some apples flavor, light sourness, but at the end I have an unpleasant feeling of sweetener. Controversial.

Cask. Orange colour, not much head. Carrot orange juice with some mild cheesy and appleish notes. Flavour is quite much the same. Rated for it’s strangeness. --- Beer merged from original tick of Cheddar Valley Dry Cider on 06 May 2011 at 10:32 - Score: Appearance - 6 | Aroma - 7 | Flavor - 5 | Texture - 6 | Overall - 6. Original review text: Cask@Helsinki Beer Festival 2011. Nice reddish orange colour, no head. Aroma is apples, some cheese, mild earthy and some yeasty notes. Flavour is apples, cheesy, herbal, mildly wooden and earthy as well. Semidry palate.

Cask (handpump) @ New Oxford, Manchester M4, UK. Hazy orange color with virtually none, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy, apple, orange, horse blanket. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet with a average to long duration. Body is medium to full, texture is oily syrupy, carbonation is flat, flat. (170108)

Cask at the Cotham Porter Stores, Bristol. Vivid orange colour with next to no head. Sweet apple aroma with a hint of spice and some citrus. Flavour was sweet with a yeasty edge. Drinkable for its strength.

(Cask at Wenlock Arms, London, 11 Aug 2007) Ok, so I’m not really a cider kinda guy, but why not finish a lovely evening at the Wenlock with a cider? Orange, reddish colour with brief white head. Fruity nose with slightly tart apple aromas (Red Delicious?). Fruity, slightly acidic taste with sweetish apple notes. Not really complex and lacking something extra, but still definitely enjoyable.

Polypin at Merton Summer Beer Festival 04-07-07 Tried this on the Wednesday night. Poured with a radioactive looking orange colour more like J20 than Cider, this colour must be artificial surely? Taste was dryish bit sharp and reasonable appley flavours.
