A clear blonde peer with a faint sweet aroma. The taste is initially sweet but the aftertaste is quite hoppy.

50cl bottle from the Sainsbury’s Beer Hunt range. Bright amber with a fast fading white head, and low carbonation; the aroma has some over-boiled malts and grassy hops; it’s quite likely in the mouth with some biscuity caramel from the malts; and a dry finish that’s lightly bitter. Almost pasteurised to death, but somehow it’s managed to pull through.

Bottle bought as part of the Sainsbury’s beer festival. Deep gold with a slight white head and plenty of fizz. Sweet, citrus fruit and grassy hop aroma with a touch of wet cardboard. Flavour was also sweet and fruity, with some vanilla, boiled sweets and a gently bitter finish. Effects of pasteurisation were too evident.

500ml bottle from Sainsburys Ashford. Clear mid gold with thin lasting white head. Aroma of some intense hops. Some sweetness in the mouth. Like SilkTork the carbonic acid from the forced carbonation is too much for me. It’s pretty dull. Pasteurised for sure. It strips it of any fullness of body. Limp.
