Our latest sour ipa offering is a riff on blueberry pie. We took our sour IPA base recipe of Pilsner, raw wheat, and malted oats, then mashed it with over 100 pounds of graham cracker meal. Hopped with Mosaic and Enigma, this beer was fermented with heaps of blueberry purée and conditioned in Madagascar vanilla beans and even more graham cracker.
The low pH coupled with the refreshing tartness of blueberry gives this one a bright spritzy acidity to balance the decadence of the lactose, vanilla, and graham.

Weird, never had a blueberry IPA before. Don't understand the incentive. And after tasting it I still don't understand. It's okay. Update: after a few swallows it became apparent that it's really more of a fruity sour than an IPA. And not that good. Drain pour.

Too much lactose, not a sour IPA, there’s no backbone here. Overly sweet blueberry with some spice and cream

Can. Purple beer with a light purple head. Light cinnamon and graham cracker aroma with berry and light tartness. Blueberry and light sour flavor with citrus. Medium bodied. Decent bitterness. Blueberry and citrus linger with light tropical fruit and light sourness.

Can from Mekelburg's: pours orangish pink with a white head. Aroma is berries and citrus, some light funk. Taste is berries, hops and a good bit of funk. Good.
