Alien Ink is our first Cascadian Dark Ale or as we know, Black IPA. Rich dark malts give a roasty but smooth and creamy base with a balanced hoppy finish from the Amarillo Cryo, Citra and Simcoe with minimal bitterness. Fermented with our Little Monster house yeast to give bold and tropical flavours.

Can ordered from Emsworth Brewhouse. Can ordered from Emsworth Brewhouse. Aroma had roasty coffee and herbs. Opaque cola brown. Foamy beige head. Bitter. Coffee. Low key sour edge followed by a fruitiness. The bitterness remains and develops a liquorice streak alongside a herbal touch. Medium bodied. Slick. Creamy. Average carbonation. Long slightly astringent finish. Enjoyable. A lot going on. Edit: took a final swig and the flavour hit me - liquorice and blackcurrant.

440ml can. Almost black, big tan head. Aroma of pine, tropical fruits, chocolate malt. Taste has lots of pine but also quite fruity and tropical, big dose of chocolate malts, bit of roasty/coffee bitterness to add to the assertive hop bitterness. Medium bodied. Excellent BIPA. Thought this was spot on. Surprised to read others finding it sweet, I really didn't get any sweetness at all.
