On cask at Millpool in Coventry - clear ruby body with a firm white lacing head. Straightforward malty caramel notes, some ripe fruit, tang from the hops.

0.5 l can. Pours copper with thick, quickly disappearing head. Nose is faint malty, nothing noteable. Taste is sweetish, biscuity malts with a moderate hoppy touch. Bitter finish, light body and average carbo. Decent bitter.

Multiple pints before and after City matches in the 90s, largely at the Victory on the Welford Road and also at the Robert Peel. Decent enough malt forward ESB with fruit cake and toffee elements. Always preferred Tiger though... a little more sessionable and drinkable.

Cask at Virgins & Castle, Kenilworth. My first try at an Everards beer. Clear amber brown with creamy off white head. Caramel malt, quite sweet and nutty but a reasonable grassy hop bite for the style. Smooth, semi-drying. Good bitter.

Cask at Bod, Alsager (not yet listed on RateBeer) – as Old Original. Pours a hazy bright copper with minimal off-white head and good lacing. Bit of a strange aroma of brown sauce with some traditional hops thrown in. In the mouth it’s a bit hard to nail down, as almost every sip is different ! It starts off as bitter and fruity with flavour of nuts to the fore. Subsequent tastings give walnuts, marmalade, maple, hints of ginger and some underlying sweetness – not necessarily in that order. Finish is dry and slightly bitter. Despite it all, this is a decent beer.

clear amber colour, medium sized, dense, though not too stable beige-ish off-white head; aroma of toffee, biscuits, toasted and floral notes, hints of nuts and apple; taste of toasted rye bread, toffee, slight floral honey and quite intensive hoppy bitterness; correct bitter for correct price (around 1EUR/0.5L); I would definitely buy it again
