Cask@GBBF2007. Golden amber colour, not much head. Both the aroma and the flavour is sweet nectary fruits, some wood and a bit of vanilla. Quite smooth thing. The wooden notes get quite big in the aftertaste.

Cask (handpump) @ Clarendon Arms, CV8, Kenilworth. Clear medium amber / orange color with a small virtually none off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, fruit. Flavor is moderate sweet and light bitter with a average duration and a dry finish. Body is light to medium, texture is watery to oily, carbonation is flat.

(Bottle 50 cl) Clear, amber golden with an off-white head. Slightly unclean caramel aroma. Light-bodied with notes of nuts and caramel. The finish is dry. Not overly convincing. 130507

Pint on cask at The Milestone Beerhouse in Ipswich. Clear dark golden. Low level of white foam, but leaving nice "Kirchenfenster" on the glass. Thin to medium flavoured containing notes of malts, caramel and a slightly bitter end. Very smooth. Moderate mouthfeel (23.09.2006).

500ml bottle from Sainsbury’s. Attractive bronze colour with white head, malty aroma and taste with a bitter chemical aftertaste. Not my cup of tea, or pint of bitter for that matter. [1/3/3/1/5=1.3] Re-rate: 500ml bottle from Waitrose. I thought I should give this another go, but it’s not much better - looks fine, has a deep malty nose that’s not entirely to my liking and has an artificial finish. [4/3/4/2/10=2.3]

Bottle picked up at Sainsbury’s, Kidlington, Sunday 13th August. Very clear brown amber coloured beer, bit of malt on the nose, nice toffee chewy taste to it which was very likeable, good maltiness, not as bitter as I was expecting but very decent session beer.
