Zwart bier zonder schuim.

Bottle, 0.33l. Aroma of roasted malt, coffee, herbs, mint, cough syrup and anise. Pours clear dark brown color with large soapy tan-like head and average sparkling appearance. Taste starts light to medium sweet roasted malt and licorice, following is grassy, herbal and minty, mouthfeel is smooth, while finish is medium bitter. Medium body, creamy texture and average carbonation in palate. Liquid after eight with anise...

Bottle. Black pour. Aroma of laurel, anise chocolate and malt. Taste has anise, laurel, chocolate, licorice, malt and caramel. Was not expecting the weird herbs, but I surprisingly like it.

Bottle @ home. Black color, small beige head. Aroma is malts and some sort of liquorice, anise or something? Flavor starts with malts, slightly mint and anise (I think) again, lightly earthy, liquorice notes, honey liquorice notes, sweet in your mind but bitter in reality. Interesting but the anise-ish stuff isn't really my thing. Very much worth a try though and even though it's not one of my favorite flavors in general, I'll happily finish the bottle because somehow, even though it is very much up front, the anise-ish flavor and aroma don't dominate for very long.

On tap at Fakin Zagreb. Black coloured, medium sized pale beige head, anise and whiff of mint in the nose. Light roasted malt, some caramel, spicy and Bronhi - ish taste with short dryish finish. Interesting but too similar to Croatian caramel/herbal candy (Bronhi) which I don't like too much.

Hah, I get to be the first to rate this, after helping get this beer to Croatia. :) Well, sadly tells more about the number of raters than anything... In any case, very dark brown in body, almost black, with an off white head. Interesting aroma, everyone could swear that there's anise inside! Bronhi-like, backed with soft maltiness. Sweetish, full taste, honey, more spicy anise-like notes, light, fresh, likable!

Fun variant of regular schwarzbiers. Loads of licorice, still some roast, sweet, malty and easy drinking. Bonus for creativity.
