Holiday Isle Special is made in collaboration with Corporate Ladder. We took inspiration from Islamorada’s iconic Holiday Isle Tiki Bar Rum Runner cocktail. Credited with creating the drink in the 1950’s. Their original cocktail recipe includes pineapple juice, orange juice, blackberry liqueur, banana liqueur a splash of grenadine and lots of rum.
We made our mead with some amazing orange blossom honey, pineapples and bananas from Costa Rica, tangerines from Uruguay, blackberries and cherries from the US.
We kept it wildish with this one. Fermented with a Saccharomyces hybrid known for tropical esters then aged on rum staves.

Bottle thanks to Brian. Pours copper with no head. The aroma is strong honey, cherry, banana, wood. Slick body, cherry, pineapple, rum, honey, nice sweetness, very good.

Deep, dark orange. Smell is a bit weird, very fruity yet dry, alcohol. Thick and sticky. Some tartness but mainly sweet fruits, plenty pineapple, lots of citrus mainly, the rum does make an appearance. Light banana at the end. Complex, but real weird.
Opens up to loads of banana, but still super dense (but crazy smooth). Something reminding me of leather sofas.
