Based on a 19th century recipe from Dalarna, Sweden, this skänköl (”beer for giving away”) was mashed with a juniper infusion that steeped overnight in wooden barrels.
It was boiled twice; firstly the entire mash and then, as usual, the wort with an addition of hops. This provides a rich malty flavour with hints of spice and a slight tannic dryness in the finish.

Pours a clear amber colour and a stiff white-ish head with endless retention. Aroma's: fruity, woody, moss, vague juniper. Retronasal it's sweetish, fruity, mossy, light sour, grassy, herbs. Flavour is light sweet and light bitter. Light bodied. Finishes slightly dry, moderate bitter. Pleasant.

33cl Fles bij Taverno Willi Becher. Koperkleurig, witte kraag. Aards, redelijk typisch BT geurtje, hooi, droog, wat jeneverbes maar redelijk op de achtergrond, herbaal, redelijk fris. Lichte body. Apart, best OK.
