Our wild black beer spent 18 months in oak before being aged for a further 6 months on local elderberries. The result is reminiscent of a deep earthy Burgundy.

Bottle. Burning Sky online. Glorious deep purple colour with a ring of dense, lasting, dark pink foam. Nose has dark and tart, earthy, jammy fruit. Dark chocolate. Oak. Tobacco leaf. Rich red wine cork. Touch of earthy brett. Taste is sweet and fruity, with a rich, earthy, oaky fruit character. Gets vinous and lightly bitter. So smooth on the palate. Hint of acidity. Definitely brings to mind the Burgundy comparison offered by the description. Absolutely no hint of the ABV. Fine and fresh carbonation. Hugely fruity, oaky juicy finish. I’m rambling to be honest. This is stunning.
