Draft @ Skinny Duke's, which is definitely not a beer place. Lots of coconut on the nose and palate. Some fruitiness, too. Papaya, maybe? I imagine that's some ester and some hop character. Moderate bitterness - it was billed as a Coco Hefe so I wasn't expecting that. The brewery describes it as hopfenweisse, which makes more sense. Makes more sense on the palate, too, because that bitterness rounds everything else out - the weizen character and coconut. I'd like the coconut to be bigger and toastier - Wakefield remains the benchmark for a coconut hefeweizen - but it's not bad at all. Probably the first thing I've had from Tin Whistle since the change of ownership and it's encouraging.

Has very nice cloudy yellow body and good thick foam. Smells of chewy sweet coconut and some juicy hops, working well. Taste is nice coconut and more juicy hops. Ends very crisp with some hop bitterness that seems misplaced. Still very nice, an easy summer beer.
