Dark copper brown body and good foam. Sweet biscuit on the nose, diluted brown sugar. Taste is sweet tobacco, slight coffee, chewy biscuit. Ends full and smooth, good carbonation. Working well.

Dark brown, touch of red in there, I guess. Medium head. Toasty notes, actually a nice dark malt character. Light body. Decent balancing hop bitterness, and maybe a touch of herbaceous hop character. Good balance on this. I guess called kolsch because of the yeast used - I mean that's not at all the definition of Kolsch but the beer itself is actually pretty good. It's not quite what you'd call a classic brown ale, but it's more like a brown ale/kolschy hybrid thing. Anyway, it's good beer, and classification is just being pedantic.
