Smooth and satisfying, this example of an historic style of beer derives its rich, chocolatey character from a blend of Brown and Chocolate malts in the brew. Its notable coffee notes and creamy finish make it a wonderful accompaniment to many sweet foods – especially chocolate pudding. 5.4% ABV.

Dark black/reddish color with a thick beige head. Caramel and coffee in the aroma. Well blended flavor with dark malt, coffee, chocolate and some fruity notes. Whenever in England, I run for this one :-D

Bottle. Has a clear, dark brown color with a light brown head. Aroma is filled with dark chocolate, liqourice and some dried fruit and toffee. Flavor of roasted bread, liqourice, coffee, dark chocolate and leather. Has a medium body, and a light bitterness. A well-balanced, roasted porter with sweet undertones. Fairly easy-drinking.

Sample from cask, Amagerbro Beerfestival 2015. Pitch black with tanned bubbles around the edge of the glass. Sweet, roasted aroma with caramel, chocolate, coffee, roasted and fruity notes. Taste is sweet/roasted. Very delicious. Medium body with a smooth, silky mouth feel. Correct temperature and carbonation. Long lasting roasted finish with coffee and chocolate. Excellent, smooth Porter. Only my second rating of a cask ale - much seek this out more.

Bottle. Pitch black colour with ruby reflexes, quickly diminishing head with poor lacing. Aroma is intensive dark chocolate, some herbal hops, slightly burnt, a touch of prune, liquorice and pralines. Light bitterness, no sweetness, after some time becomes slightly sour, which is not very pleasant. Soft carbonation, medium body, thick texture. Fantastic!

probably my favorite brew in the world. almost fully black with a pinch of ruby hue, nice tan head. dark chocolate and coffee aroma. milk and dark chocolate taste going through macchiato to roasted coffee finish. a crescendo of roastiness! dryish coffee finish. full- body, quite creamy. God, I love it!

Bottle, 500 ml from Pivoljub, Ljubljana. Pours dark brown with beige head. Roasted malts and chocolate in aroma. Flavor is roasted malts, chocolate, coffee. Bitterish finish.
