After about 4 years, Hyper Drive makes its triumphant return! This Double IPA has just a touch a rye, a good bit of wheat, and an even gooder bit of oat, rolling in at 8.5%. Hops are among the changes to this beer, now sporting the new and favorite hop Strata, alongside a bit of Idaho 7 and Callista.

Can from Livonia Liquor. Pours a deep orange gold with a full 2 fingers of beige foam that dissipates. Crushed mango, pineapple, citrus and creamy durian aromas. More of the same on the palate with a lingering tropical fruit basket note that lingers...cherry, pineapple and kiwi as it warms. Light pine and prickly pear on the finish. Nice.

Appearance - 8 | Aroma - 7 | Flavor - 7 | Texture - 8 | Overall - 7.5
Cloudy orange-brown body, thick cream head. Nose tart, spicy, and catty, with pineapple. Flavor profile with stone fruits, tangerine, and a smoky, catty dankness, essentially a sweet hops tea with dank undertones. Quite good.
