We brewed this big beer with Borg brewing from Iceland. They brought over a native herb called Arctic Thyme, which adds a nice minty flavour to this hefty Barleywine. Especially brewed for Barleywine Fest 2018.

Tap @ Flink Gegist Festival. Amber color. Caramel and cellar notes in the aroma and flavor. Hint of yeast. Banana sweets. Slightly herbal.

Draft at Flink Gegist Festival ‘19. Near clear golden orange with an off white head. Aroma of herbs, caramel, malt, dried apricot and overripe dark fruits. Flavour is above moderate sweet and light moderate bitter. Medium bodied with soft carbonation.

Tap at Flink Gegist festival. Almost clear light amber with light beige head. Weird herbs, booze, medicinal notes, alcohol, old wood, tannins, sugary malts. Over medium sweet, medium bitter and light tart. Full bodied. Don’t like it much.

Another beer with that weird Arctic Thyme (see the earlier Oersoep review), and this one suffers from the same problems. Way too much carbonation, weird minty herballness, unbalanced, thin. Just.. no.
