Ładna piana bogata zbita mocno i wysoka. Kolor piwa miedziano-rubinowy. W smaku wytawny z niewielką domieszką karmelu. W smaku trochę nut toffi wyczuwałem, a po przełknięciu na finiszu goryczkowa wytrawność już dominuje

Cask at The Warwickshire Lad, Tanworth in Arden, Solihull. Poured a clear dark chestnut brown with a broken off-white head. The aroma is malty with a little fruit. The flavour is weak bitter with malt and fruit. There was a little sourness in the palate too which suggests we were coming to the end of the barrel even though it it was still drinkable. A decent session beer, nothing more.

Shared 500ml bottle with a mate during a random tasting evening on 15th Feb 2013. Like the cask version I really enjoyed it but stand by my thoughts that it could have more ’umph’ and depth with very little changes. Looks good full on copper body with a good, deep head of tanned bubbley foam. The nose was malty, with dark fruits: not overly strong but easy to pick out. The taste simular to the aroma, malty and fruity, almost a fruity malt loaf sort of flavour, but not as thick or rich. Medium body feel, would have prefered a deeper depth of flavours and a slicker/thicker feel to the beer.

Nose is very light, with a slight hint of malt and hay. Appearance is amber with little head but some lacing. The taste is of biscuit, malt, slight herbal and medicine with some bitterness. Slight hint of a metallic finish and the bitterness gives way to a sugary end. It’s an OK bitter.
