In January 2020, we went to the traditional sherry region in the south of Spain to source our own sherry barrels for future Zenne y Frontera projects. One of the resurrecting bodegas in the area is that of Fernández-Gao. With quite a full and rich family history, and after the decay of the traditional sherry heritage, this house sold its wines - and eventually, its bodega - to other, bigger and internationally reputed merchants.
Disappearing in the late sixties, the bodega and associated brands got recovered in 2014, introducing a new generation restoring the original bodega locations and offering again refined sherries from older family generation soleras.
We selected a barrel that held Palo Cortado for 33 years and two jonge lambikken for over a good year. The weighted average age of the lambikken while bottling was 28 months. 100% 3 Fonteinen.

Pours a hazed, darker blonde. Scent is complex, unexpectingly, amazingly clear on PC Specifically ! Not as loud as the Amontillado, but even more refined, complex, and lovely. Taste is full, smoother acidity than Amontillado. very clear on PC Specifically. Tad sweet by the glycerin, lovely, very nutty, oh so refined !

Bottle at Humus x Hortense 3F Dinner. Pours a clear copper with no head. The aroma is strong funk, sherry, wood, floral. Slick body, funk, wood, strong sherry, light dry finish, really enjoyed this.
