We took Shape Shifter coffee beans from our friends at Krankies coffee, and brought them back to the brewhouse to transform a delicate blonde ale. A silky smooth base of malt offers the perfect platform for the transfigured additions, allowing the intense aromatics to shine through.

16oz can from Tavour. Medium golden, clear, small fizzy head. Gentle coffee aroma. More subtle coffee in the taste along with strong grainy, malty base. Smooth, slick. Really nice.

2 week old pint can A: Poured a dull medium orange gold with 1/2 of foam that fell quickly. S: Sweet coffee, herbal hops and corn. Like a Czech pils (with coffee). T: Bitter herbal hops mingle with lingering tart coffee notes. Coffee is not terribly strong but still overwhelms the subtle malt and hop flavors. M: Crisply carbonated and easy drinking with a slightly sticky finish. O: It just tastes like a beer with coffee added. I think the coffee here detracts from the beer. Nothing I'd seek out.
