Like a phoenix rising from the ashes, Parkersburg Brewing Co. is back! Prohibition reduced the Parkersburg Brewing Co. to a nearly forgotten piece of West Virginia History. From Ash and Ember (FA&E) is a tribute to our founders & the resurgence of Parkersburg Brewing Co. This is no ordinary ale...brewed with a foolish amount of dark malts to yield rich flavors of coffee, toast & caramel. But don’t be fooled by the darkness of this beer. A quick whiff & a savoring sip take your senses on a flight of citrus, floral, and earthy hops.

Black with a large fluffy tan head that lingered and left good lacing. Roasty with anise and piney hops. Long finish. Medium body.

On tap at Parkersburg, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma is fairly muted, with earthy hops and a touch of toasted malt. Flavour is dry, with toasted malt, earthy hops, and a general muted cardboardy character. Needs more hops and roast to be a CDA. It's fine but nothing worth drinking.

On tap at Timothy’s. Black with medium beige head. Aroma is herbal hops, medium body, medium/lower carbonation, and a little small-bubble lacing. Taste is herbal hops, dark malt, and bitter finish. Nice for the style.
