Pours a thick, oily black with minimal, tan head. Aroma of roasted grain, coffee, chocolate. Flavors include roasted/toasted grain, chocolate, coffee, dark fruit (plum, raisin), nuts. Slightly sweet, with a very bitter finish/aftertaste to it. Might could be a touch more smooth.

On tap at a Churchkey event, pours a dark brown with no head, leggy though. Nose has chocolate, toast, booze, raisin, black pepper, pencil lead. Flavor has chilis, toasted marshmellow, chocolate, nuts, booze. Astringent finish but surprisingly dry.

Can, shared at Magic Rock. Nearly black. Weirdly foamy, scummy, tan head. Nose has chocolate digestives. Some caramel. Some treacle. Taste is light sweet, and chocolatey bitter. Smooth and slick mouthfeel. Light chocolate bitter finish.

33oz crowler pours with a deep dark body that supports a tiny tan head. The aroma offers up dark roasted malts, chocolate, a lactose note and then a sense of vanilla. The taste delivers smooth dark roasted maltiness, a pleasing chocolate sensation and then smooth sweet molasses and residual sugars. Nice rich sipper.
