All brewers like a cocktail from time to time, but how about the best of both worlds in this cocktail-inspired beer? Taking inspiration from the classic “White Russian” cocktail as well as the movie that made it famous is “The Brewed Abides,” a milk stout with vanilla, coffee and cocoa. This unique beer pours a chocolate color with dense off white head and entices the senses with an aromatic bouquet of vanilla, coffee, and dark chocolate. | Brewed with coffee, cocoa, lactose and vanilla.

On tap deep dark brown pour with a fine ring of light tan bubbles. Chocolate and soft dark roast in the aromas. Sweet chocolatey with a little oak.. but flat and sweet. I suspect old beer in the line Disappointing

From a bottle. Pours a nearly black with a coarse tan head. Coffee and dark chocolate in the aromas and flavors. Lactose is evident but a nice roasty bite as well

12 oz from a six pack, bought at the grocery store. Aroma is chocolate, dark bread, coffee, vanilla, roasty, bad breath, licorice. Pours black with brown edges and a one finger beige head that falls into a big-bubbly ring after a minute. Taste is lightly sweet, moderately bitter, with flavors like the aroma. Not bad.

Crowler from Growler Guys. Near black pour, thick tan head settles into small, bubbly foam. Aroma offers notes of chocolate milk and roast malts. Taste brings coffee and vanilla into the mix, slight bitterness to go with the sweet dark chocolate and lacto flavors. Full bodied and pleasant aftertaste.
