The name "Black Helmet" honors all the brave frontline firefighters throughout our great nation and city. This flagship IPA is brewed and massively dry-hopped with Citra and Simcoe hops. A favorite at our firehouse for dozens of years.

Can from Best Damn Beer Shop. Pours nearly hazy gold with a large foamy white head. Lots of citrus in the aroma - orange even. Med body. Citrously juicy. Reasonably dry. Quite hoppy. Quite bitter. Not NW harsh tho. Very tasty ale.

16 oz can from Brewers Haven. Golden pour, hazy, small persistent tight head. Malty aroma with a light citrus edge, oranges. Taste adds a soft caramel sweetness. Hoppiness remains very subdued.

473ml can. Pours a hazy pale gold with a large, frothy, short lived, white head that leaves thick patches of lace. Sweet aroma of bready caramel malt, tropical fruit, grapefruit and floral hops. Sweet fruity flavour of caramel malt, orange, pineapple and floral hops in a dry, mild bitter, hoppy finish. Medium body with a smooth, slightly creamy texture and average carbonation. The name led me to believe this was a Black IPA, so I'm slightly disappointed. Having said that, this is a solid, easy drinking IPA.
