El Mariachi is a Tequila barrel aged gose infused with dehydrated lime and sea salt. The aroma is dominated by the complex perfumey character of Tequila with warm spice, leather, sumac and aromatic lime. The flavour is fresh and tart with a distinct flavour of Tequila and aromatic citrus that resembles orange and lime peel. The salt keeps the tartness in check, and the bitterness from the dehydrated lime creates a well-balanced and surprisingly complex beer

(Tap sample @ MBCC 2017 Red Session, Copenhagen) Pours barely hazed pale gold with a white head. Notes dominated by citrus peel (lime especially with grapefruit, orange), layered over a slightly tart orchard fruit-inflected pale malt body, soft tequila, touch of grain, wet wood, a bit of yeasty spicy phenols, moderate salt. The latter, along with sweet-tart lime and a little wood, ride out through the finish. Light to medium body, soft carb. Quite tasty and well balanced stuff here.

Bottle at home, 26/02/18. Lightly hazed yellow with carbonation evident and topped with a white cap of bubbles. Nose is lime juice, citric tinged straw, grains, light herbal notes, balsa wood, lemon rind, light piss. Taste comprises Roses lime marmalade shreds, salt licks, damp grass, sea weed, mellow tequila barrel evident, quite a salty bite, herbal tones, dampy hay, light green berry pucker. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, drying close with a tarte citric climax and salty kiss. Solid well balanced gose ... sat on this for a year ... nice mellow flavours coming through.
