Tief im französischen Osten, im Elsass, sind die klimatischen Bedingungen besonders gut geeignet für den Anbau von bestem Aromahopfen. Hier wächst der wunderbare „Strisselspalt“, ein Aromahopfen von feinblumiger Bittere. Er inspirierte dieses Jahr unseren ***Braumeister Stephan Dück dazu, ein großes Bier zu Ehren der „Grande Nation“ zu brauen. Deutsche Braukunst wurde mit französischer Finesse verbunden. Entstanden ist ein besonderes Jahrgangsbier mit einer Stammwürze von 16,7% und 6,8 Vol.% Alkoholgehalt. Naturtrüb und hellbronzefarben überzeugt das Bier durch feine Hopfenbittere und höchst angenehmen Abgang.

0,33 l bottle out of Erzengel´s vault. Thanks a lot, mate! By the way BB 31.12.2013. Let´s rock ... Cloudy amber in the glass, nearly no head. Sweet fruity smell, some peppermint. Getting more Belgian sugar at the second nose. Tast starts flat malty, some chestntr, suagr sweetness, dry. Still drinkable.

Bottle from Kölschtrinker, thanks! Amber color. Vinous, soft hoparoma. Oily hopflavor with dried peach. Some alcoholic notes. Red berries.

Bottle. Boiled cabbage, minerals, Maggi. Grey golden, offwhite cream. Medium full sweet body. Sweet fruity, mineral, dusty, herbal hops, pretty much a old oxidized Biere de Garde.

Bottle, many thanks Beerhunter111! Hazy amber color with white head. Aroma is grassy, straw, peach, a touch DMS? Taste is peach, grainy, a hint grassy hops, straw, oxidized. Sirupy mouthfeel with medium carbonation. Alright.

Old 33cl bottle courtesy of Erzengel! A clear orange golden beer with a huge most good lasting off-white head. Aroma of sweet caramelish malt, grainy malt, honey. Taste of sweet grainy malt, caramel, honey, some vanilla, straw, low bitterness.

Old bottle from my cellar. The beer starts smooth and mild. Slightly sweetish with hints of grain and a nice moderate bitterness. Easy to drink, smooth with a nice floral bitterness in the end, round and nice.

Bottled, thanks Bierkrug! Cloudt amber, rich head. Highly aromatic with pears and viola dominating. Sweet with medium body and rounded mouthfeel. Caramelly malt, slight peppery alcohol. Fudge and slight resin in the finish. Interesting beer, but a bit syrupy/heavy.

Bouteille: Hazy, some floaties visible, smaller white foamy layer, sweetish-bready nose with a tinge of alcool and pretty subdued hops; moderate sweet-bitter flavour, medium bodied; alcool, encore une fois, in the bready-bitter finish. Ils sont fous, les brasseurs de Welde! Ou sont les houblons…?

Bottle @ French Oktoberfest Tasting Ulfborg, 2012. Trade with Koelschtrinker. Pours cloudy golden with a white head. Dust, grain, caramel and toffee. Medium bodied.
