New Frontier Beer: Boone, travelling through Kentucky on his way to the frontier, needed a place to store his beer. He placed an imperial brown in discarded bourbon barrels. Months later he had an amazing beer that would cellar well. And so the legend was born. *Events presented here are not factual, but are based on actual events. In our dreams. After sampling the beer a few times. Cheers!

Split a 22oz bottle. Poured a dark amber/brown color with a small white head. Aroma was boozy bourbon notes, some vanilla, woody notes. Flavor was nice light boozy alcohol notes, bourbon. Touch of vanilla on the finish. Pretty enjoyable.

Bomber from Bestway. Pours a clear bronze color with a thin creamy head. Decent head retention. Aroma of bourbon and some toffee notes buried in there behind the whiskey. The taste is bourbon, caramel, vanilla, raisin. Medium bodied. Way too heavy on the bourbon

Bottle thanks to TURDFERGUSON: Poured a deep brown with a carbonated off white bubble head, it dissipated fast to leave a jello like thin film. Aroma is strong caramel malt with a nice boozy bourbon hint. Taste is very complex with roasted caramel malt, souring wood, vanilla and bourbon mixed. A delightful brown ale for a change.

Sample at the Central OH BA Tasting at From The Vine on 06/02/2012: The beer pours a clear mahogany color with a medium light beige head that recedes steadily. Partial rings of lacing. Aroma of dark malt, bourbon and fruit. Medium body with a bourbon character and notes of sweet malt, brown sugar and a touch of dark fruit. The finish is slightly boozy with a malty aftertaste. Pretty good overall.
