On tap at the Loyal Legion, pours black with a medium creamy brown head. Aroma brings out medium roasted malt and a touch of cocoa. Flavour is robust, with lots of roasted malt and a touch of dry cocoa. Robust and very roasty, with a pleasant hoppy bitter balance. By the books, but very well done for what it is.

Taster at Loyal Legion. Dark black small ring of head, spotty lacing. Aroma is mostly roast grains, mildly sweet . More bitterness come through in the taste, roast grains, burnt toast.. Dry and chalky.

On tap at loyal legion Portland pours out a dark brown almost black topped with a tan head. Nose is sweet malts chocolate milk some light coffee. Taste is more of the nice sweet chocolate milk notes vanilla and some booze.
