In Williamsburg, Brooklyn, we forge barley malt and hops from Germany, aromatic raw sugar from Mauritius and yeast from Belgium into our latest beer, Brooklyn Local 1. Behind the full golden color you'll find an alluring aroma, a dynamic complex of flavors. Belgian flair, Brooklyn fortitude and a dusting of our special yeast. To create this beer, we use the old technique of 100% bottle re-fermentation, a practice now rare even in Europe. It gives this beer a palate of unusual depth. Enjoy it locally or globally, as an aperitif or with your favorite dishes. It is particularly nice with spicy seafood and with fine cheeses.

Somehow after ten years of beer rating and also being aware of this beer, it is today that I am having it for the first time. Pour is orange with a frothy white head. Atoma is yeast, citrus, spice... smells very old school and Belgian. Taste is lightly sweet. Dry Belgian style bitterness. I appreciate what they did here.

Bottle shared at Gremlin. Thanks Tohara-san! Classic Belgian tripel nose. With flowery and estery notes: pear, apple and clove. Clean and crisp on the palate, but with a soft, creaminess. Light clove and pepper on the finish. Hides the abv well. One of the better American tripel clones I’ve had. Wow rating number 1311 for this beer. Here is my drop in the bucket. Lovely lager. Decent malty profile with yeasty flavour, mild bubblegum, mildly sweet, no notable hops. Not overly Belgian but a very nice beer. Cheers.
