A traditional English-style Barleywine. The Femur is brewed with premium UK malts and endured a long boil to produce complex flavors and rich aromas of caramel, vanilla, and dried fruit. Backed by a mellow bitterness and full body, this deep copper ale is quite warming at 11.0% ABV.

Murky, very sweet. Doesn’t look great, and it’s just this thick, goopy, unbalanced mess. The Ba version needed the barrel as this just isn’t good at all.

On tap at Loyal Legion, pours a hazy amber orange with a small off-white head. Aroma brings out heavy caramel, toffee, and some dark red fruits. Flavour is along the same lines, with lots of caramel, dark fruits and a man aggressive hoppy component to it. Robust and bordering on abrasive. Very good.

Crowler from the brewery. Clear, dark amber, small beige bubbly head. Malty aroma, big caramel and toffee note, kind of sweet. Taste is more of the big sweet malts, with some dark fruity flavors in there too. Mostly a big malt bomb though.

Crowler thanks to Steveoj. Pours out a crisp clear amber topped with a small tan ring of a head. Nose is big caramel toffee malts lots of sweet notes and some light spice. Taste is more of the nice toffee caramel malt candy sugar and some pitfruit.
