Bottle 0.5l at Pikkulintu, Helsinki. #02263. Colour is black with very small brownish white head. Aromas and flavors: Coffee, licorice, hints of salt, some dark chocolate and roasted malts. Elements of red wine, nice soft little bit of oily palate, absolutely massive, beautiful monster, can’t find any marks of aging. Wonderful experience. Some burning in throat and my face is warming, 0.5l of this is pleasant challenge.

Brygd 2007. Flaska från SB, Norge-provning. Ganska svag men rå doft. Metall, olja, lakrits och alkohol. Mycket alkohol, ganska torr, stram och rå, hårdrostad, lakrits, riktigt torr mörk choklad, soja, oljig, måttlig beska. Ett rått maffigt öl att dricka i små doser.

500mL bottle, pours pitch black like engine oil with a very quickly-dissipating brown head. Aroma is very rich with notes molasses, caramel, liqueur coated dark fruits, some light roasted malt and even some light notes of coffee. The beginning of the first sip burns the mouth with intense alcohol, then follows with notes of liqueur, burnt roasted malt, licorice, caramel, tar and tobacco. Complex, but my throat is on fire from the intense booziness. Extremely hot, making no attempt to hide the alcohol even after 4 years of cellaring. Despite this, very soft palate with little carbonation. Probably the weakest of the three Dark Horizons (so far) due to the heat, though enjoyable... very, very, very slow sipper.
