On tap at Mother Earth, pours a clear dark copper amber with a small beige head. Aroma brings out a rather English character on the malts, with bready malt and sticky toffee pudding. Flavour is bold and balanced, with notes of sticky toffee, some dark dried fruits and English bready malt. Sticky palate, without being too sweet. Really nicely done.

Grunt fill from Albertsons. Dark brown, let’s some light in, spare head. Faint roast grain aroma, nutty, sweet. Taste is much fuller, toasty, chocolate, nuts, brown sugar. Mild bitterness. Hard to believe it’s 8℅. Little warmth. But tasty as all get out...

On Tap Clear deep chestnut brown. Thin wispy tan head and lacing. Rich clean toasted malt flavors. I think teh agave contribute to a clean well finished beer for a fairly high ABV. Smooth woody slight sharp finish.

Draught @ Churchill’s Pub & Grille, San Marcos, CA
Pours dark brown with a smooth head. Aroma of roasty malts, honey, hints of syrup and caramel. Taste is smooth, malty and caramely with some roastiness, honey and syrup. Finish is smooth, sweetish and slightly syrupy. Okay.

Draught @ Churchill’s Pub & Grille, San Marcos. Aroma has nuts and coffee. Flavour has sweet berry juice, some fruity hops and nuts. Nothing much, I like my browns less juicy.
