Tap @ Fairview Pub. Dark brown pour, sort of chocolate and muddy. Thin beige cap and modest lacing. The nose is lightly malty, sweet, and a little bit of campfire. I haven’t had a lot of schwarzbiers, but the level of smoke to malt and modest sweetness is quite nice. Just a little bit of bitterness in the end. Nice.

On Tap at the original Boise BP Clear deep chestnut witha thin wispy light tan head. Woody nutty aroma, sharp toasted grain flavor, with plenty bitterness but pretty light (colored) for a schwarz. Maybe it should be a "Braun"Bier. A robust biter Brown ale is what I would have called this in sa blind taste test. tasty though.

On tap at bier thirty. Pours out a nice amber brownish topped with a long lasting tan head. Nose is nuts smoke malts and some sweetness. Taste is just as the nose with a good nut and malt combo.

Looks and smells like a German schwarzbier, taste is bit lighter and lacking some of the bitter roast grain bite. Props for trying this unique style.
