Bottle from the brewery, mail order. Excited about this one. Supposedly the first beer the brewer wanted to make. Only took 16 years to get around to it! soft, fluffy malt nose, bread, biscuit, bit of lemony, grassy hops. Bright gold, clear, with a thick, fine head. Soft and malty, bready, smooth, full body, low carbo, quite suffig. Light hops with spicy, herbal, slight citrus notes. Pretty impressive.

I wanted to try this after I saw it online… Shiga Kogen Helles!? 5% It’s got a matte gold color and foamy white head. The aroma is bready with herbal hops. Very soft medium body that delivers rich honeyed bread maltiness and herbs + lemon hop elements. Really nice stuff that goes down a treat.

Medium straw color. Nice floral, honey and cereal character in the nose. low medium bitterness, soft mouth feel, very quaffable. Well balanced. Excellent.
Nice dry and wheaty feel. Bit of hoppiness. Pretty traditional I feel and quite nice for it.
