Bottle poured into a wineglass showing moderately filtered dark purple and burgundy with clean white foam lacing. The nose shows lightly tart notes of cinnamon with light notes of barnyard. The palate is well carbonated and light bodied. Moderately tart with moderately intense flavours of blackberries, plum, and bing cherry throughout.

375ml bottle. Clear, reddish brown colour with small, frothy to creamy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, beige head. Tart-ish, slightly vinous and earthy, fruity aroma, notes of bramble, dark berries, hints of oak, balsamico. Taste is sour, acetic, astringent, tangy, oaky, slightly fruity, hints of bramble, dark berries in general, a touch of balsamico. Sourness is too much in acetic regions (instead of more digestible lactic of fruit acidic), therefore minimally displeasing.

375 ml bottle into tulip glass, 2016 vintage bottling. Pours slightly hazy deep ruby red/light purple color with a small foamy pink head that reduces to nothing pretty quickly. Some light clinging bubbles on the glass, with light streaming carbonation. Aromas of big sour/tangy blackberry, strawberry, raspberry, cherry, lemon, green apple, red grape, hay, straw, oak, pepper, wheat, and cracker; with light notes of leathery/musty funk, red wine vinegar, and yeast/oak earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balanced and complexity of fruity/funky/acidic yeast, blackberries, oak, and moderate pale malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big sour/tangy blackberry, strawberry, raspberry, cherry, lemon, green apple, red grape, hay, straw, oak, pepper, wheat, and cracker; with light notes of leathery/musty funk, red wine vinegar, and yeast/oak earthiness. Light-moderate fruity/lactic tartness, fruit tang, and yeast/oak spiciness on the finish. Lingering notes of sour berries, lemon, green apple, red grape, hay, straw, pepper, wheat, cracker, and yeast/oak earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Fantastic complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/funky/acidic yeast, blackberries, oak, and moderate pale malt flavors; with an awesome malt/tart/spiciness balance, very slight increasing pucker on the finish. Slightly increasing dryness from tartness and yeast/oak spiciness. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, moderately bready/grainy/acidic, and fairly tangy/tannic balanced mouthfeel that is great. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 5.6%. Overall this is a fantastic fruited sour ale. All around awesome complexity, robustness, and balance fruity/funky/acidic yeast, blackberries, oak, and moderate pale malt flavors; very smooth and easy to drink with the balanced lactic/tangy/tannic finish. Really well rounded Brett/Lacto complexity, oak presence, and blackberry intensity; with a nice malt backbone to balance the acidity. A highly enjoyable offering.
