Originally brewed on the June Solstice of 2012 with our Danish friends Peter Sonne of Flying Couch and Christian Skovdal Andersen of Beer Here, this Farmstead® amber ale pays tribute to those early years and their continuing friendship. We have created this new iteration to honor that deep and abiding connection.
Note: starting from 2019, Sankt Hans was aged in oak puncheons. Check the year on your bottle to determine which you have.

Bottled. A hazy amber beer with a lazing yellowish head. The aroma has notes of brettanomyces, malt, barnyard, and caramel. The flavor is sweet with notes of brettanomyces, wood, malt, caramel, and straw, leading to a tart finish.

750mL bottle, pours a cloudy amber orange with a large foamy white head. Aroma is fairly rustic, dry earthy tones, and some slight hop accents. Flavour is quite tart, with a hugely earthy tone, and some notes I can only discern as a hair salon. Quite tart and earthy. No where near the classic Hill Farmstead quality. Drinkable, but nothing special.

Chalky, vomitous and odd. +++Sampled from a 750 ml brown bottle this beer poured a very murky orange-tan color with a small foamy white head that left no lacing. The aroma was bread, sugar, orange, Pez and funk. The flavor was sour vinegar and stomach acid followed by chalk and pez. Long tart vinegar and stomach acid finish. Medium body.
